Aveda Institutes are premier education facilities that are creating future salon and spa professionals. Student service providers perform services while supervised by trained Aveda professionals. Multiple service check points are performed by trained Aveda professionals. Aveda products are used throughout your hair and spa services. Service times may be a bit longer than your average salon & spa. We offer outstanding service for affordable prices.

Aveda Institute Hair and Spa Services

Your experience at Aveda Institute offers our students a variety of classroom settings and training opportunities to create the stylists of the future. Part of the student experience is their time on the clinic floor. Aveda Institute offers guests the opportunity to support students in their learning by offering our guests 2 experience levels. Our level 1 student has met Aveda fundamental benchmarks and has moved from class room to our clinic floor. Our level 2 student has passed additional education benchmarks and offers guests additional services, speed and technique.

Hair Esthetics

Your Aveda Institute experience starts with a consultation using a portfolio to determine the guest’s desired results during their institute visit. These services also include an Aveda stress relieving scalp ritual, an Aveda stress relieving hand ritual and an Aveda finishing touch.

Shampoo & blow dry:

This service includes a shampoo and simple style (blow-dry only). With a simple style the guest may experience a variety of brushes depending on the finished look.

Shampoo, blow dry & thermal work:

This service includes a shampoo and style. In addition to using a variety of brushes the guest may have their hair flat ironed or curled using a Marcel iron. The thermal work will add an additional 15 minutes to the basic shampoo and blow dry service time. Extensive thermal work will have an additional charge.

Shampoo, set & style:

Once the hair has been shampooed with the appropriate Aveda shampoo the hair will be set on rollers. The guest will then be placed under a hood dryer until the hair is completely dry. Once the hair is dry the rollers will be removed and the hair will be combed out into the desired style. This service does not include any iron work.

Haircut & blow dry:

This service includes a shampoo, cut and simple style (blow-dry only). With a simple style, the guest may experience a variety of brushes depending on the finished look.

This service includes a shampoo, haircut and style. In addition to using a variety of brushes the guest may have their hair flat ironed, or curled using a Marcel iron. The thermal work will add an additional 15 minutes to the basic shampoo and blow dry service time and any thermal work more extensive will have an additional charge.

Updo: In an updo service, instead of an Aveda stress relieving scalp ritual, the guest will experience an Aveda stress relieving neck and shoulder ritual. The guest can either come with clean dry hair or add a shampoo and blow dry service prior to the updo. Updo services include thermal work and if the thermal work is excessive an additional $5 per 15 minutes of service should be added to the starting price. Guests will be asked to wear a button-down shirt so their style isn’t disturbed when changing.

The following services no longer appear on our printed service menu and they are services that we can perform. Because they don’t appear on our printed service menu, prices are quoted upon consultation.

Haircut, Set & Style:

Once the hair has been shampooed with the appropriate Aveda shampoo the hair will be cut and set on rollers. The guest will then be placed under a hood dryer until the hair is completely dry. Once the hair is dry the rollers will be removed and the hair will be combed out into the desired style. This service does not include any iron work.

Wrap, Set & Style:

Once the hair has been shampooed with the appropriate Aveda shampoo the hair will be set on rollers and placed under a hood dryer to dry. Once the hair is dry the rollers will be removed and the hair will be wrapped and the guest will be placed back under the hood dryer. The hair will then be combed out into the desired style. This service does not include any iron work.

Add Flat iron to chemical services:

Hair texture and color services do not have published pricing for iron work. Guest who desire any iron work should be quoted an additional charge to their texture or color service. As stated above, any thermal work requiring more than 15 minutes to accomplish the guest’s desired look will be quoted an additional price.

Hair Texture

Hair texture services include permanent waves, relaxers and the newest texture service by Aveda. Your Aveda Institute hair texture services include a consultation using a portfolio to determine the guests desired result during their institute visit. These services also include an Aveda stress relieving neck and shoulder ritual, an Aveda stress relieving hand ritual and an Aveda finishing touch.

Aveda Permanent Waves:

During the consultation the student and educator will determine the Aveda permanent wave product to be used to achieve the guest desired result. Permanent wave services include a reshaping and simple style. A simple style does not include any iron work.

The “starts at price” on the printed service menu is based on a basic (Alpha) perm wrap and 1 box of permanent wave solution. Specialty wraps and or additional boxes of permanent wave solution required an additional charge. Additional charges may be applied for each hour of additional wrapping time and any additional boxes of permanent wave solution.

Relaxer Services:

During the consultation the student and educator will determine the type of Relaxer services. Relaxer services include a reshaping and simple style. A simple style does not include any iron work.

The “starts at” price on the printed service menu is based on a retouch relaxer service. Virgin relaxers will be quoted based on the length of hair and time necessary to perform the service. Additional charges may be applied for each hour of additional service time and any additional relaxer to perform the service.

Aveda Smooth Infusion Texture Smoother:

This service has been developed to control unmanageable frizz and curl. It is a professional demi-permanent smoothing treatment that smoothes the hair, combats frizz and reduces styling time for beautiful, manageable hair. The service includes flat ironing.

Add Flat iron to chemical services:

Hair texture services do not have published pricing for thermal work. Guest who desire any iron work should be quoted an additional charge to their texture service. As stated above any thermal work requiring more than 15 minutes to accomplish will be quoted an additional charge per 15 minutes.

These services also include an Aveda stress relieving neck and shoulder ritual, an Aveda stress relieving hand ritual and an Aveda finishing touch.

Color Balancing:

Hair color balancing is the application of color to the entire hair strand. The hair will either be retouched, refreshed, or rejuvenated . During the consultation, the student and educator will determine the Aveda color product to be used to achieve the guest’s desired result. Aveda color products used to achieve color balancing are Full Spectrum Permanent, Full Spectrum Deposit Only Color Treatment (DOCT), Full Spectrum Deep and Shades of Enlightenment. Enlightener is not included in a color balancing service. Color balancing services include a simple style. A simple style does not include any thermal work.

Dimensional color:

During the consultation, the student and educator will determine the Aveda color product to be used to achieve the guest’s desired result. Aveda color products used to achieve dimensional color are Full Spectrum Permanent, Full Spectrum Deposit Only Color Treatment (DOCT), Full Spectrum Deep and Shades of Enlightenment or Enlightener. Dimensional color services include a simple style. A simple style does not include any thermal work.

Singles:

Singles can be placed anywhere on the head. They are often used to either emphasize a certain area of a haircut or as an accent.

Lighten & Refine:

When a guest desires a very light blonde color or more than five (5) levels of lift, the lighten & refine process is used. This is a double process blonde service: first, the lightener is applied and then, after shampooing, the toner is applied. Lighten and refine services include a simple style. A simple style does not include any thermal work.

Corrective Color:

Corrective color will be priced based on the consultation and desired result.

Moisture treatment

Improves damaged dry hair up to 86% with the power of buriti and pomegranate oils, leaving strands soft, silky and shiny.

Repair Treatment

Improves damaged hair up to 84% with the power of quinoa protein and sugar beet-derived amino acid, leaving strands strong, supple and healthy looking.

Scalp & hair:

Hair and Scalp treatment is like a spa treatment for your head. It begins with a restorative scalp treatment and ends with a transformative moisture or repair treatment. Your hair will look healthier and shinier, feeling soft and silky.

Masque:

Masque can be added for additional deeper condition for hair that needs additional repair or moisture.

Nail Services

With an Aveda Hand or Foot Treatment each guest has Aveda products incorporated into their treatment. The treatment, aroma and products used will aid in balance and recovery of the nail and skin. In alignment with our mission we also offer Spa Ritual nail care products at select locations. Dedicated to the spa tradition, SpaRitual is committed to creating eco-friendly products and packaging perfectly crafted for the enlightened consumer. We use Vegan ingredients from around the world, including many specially sourced and selected plant essences that are wild crafted OR organic. The formulations are naturally colored and free of synthetic dyes. SpaRitual is constantly monitoring sustainability issues and strives to be on the cutting edge of environmental awareness. Enlighten yourself. Be a SpaRitualist, because we all deserve to live the good life.

30 Minute Manicure:

This is a swift route to the ultimate relaxation, when a busy schedule limits time availability. This service includes filing, trimming, some cuticle work, and polish application.

30 Minute Pedicure:

When a busy schedule limits time availability, restore vitality with a swift route to ultimate foot relaxation. This service begins with a foot soak in a blooming bath of warm aromas, followed by filing, trimming, some cuticle work, and a polish application. Also receive a shortened version of our beloved exfoliation blend on the legs and feet.

60 minute Manicure:

Transform tired hands with this luxurious ritual, customized to meet personal needs. All the Aveda Institute basics of soaking, filing, shaping, cuticle work, and polish application are included in this service. This ritual includes warm infusions that cleanse, exfoliate, and drench the skin in the ultimate hydration, followed by an indulgent oil massage and exfoliation scrub that will allow hands to emerge younger, softer, and renewed.

60 Minute Pedicure:

Transform the feet with this luxurious foot ritual, customized to meet personal needs. All the Aveda Institute basics of soaking, filing, shaping, cuticle work, buffing of the feet, and polish application are included in this service. This ritual includes warm infusions that cleanse, exfoliate, and drench the skin in ultimate hydration, followed by an indulgent oil massage with an exfoliation scrub that will allow the feet to emerge soft and renewed.

Orly Gel Nails Two Week Manicure:

Get high gloss nails that are instantly dry with zero chipping for a full 2 weeks with The Two Week Manicure. You will love your nails after this service which includes filing, trimming, cuticle work, and polish application. Service price includes gel polish removal when you schedule another Two Week Manicure. Otherwise, professional removal is available.

French Polish or Polish Change:

Add flair to your manicure or pedicure with a French Polish or stop in for a quick polish change.

Esthiology

We believe that spa services are not just a luxury. Spa services are an important part in creating balance and wellness in your life. Our student service providers are able to provide result-driven treatments which are customized for your needs. Our pricing structure is based on the day your service is offered. High demand appointment times are priced accordingly while low demand times are considerably less. You can decide what is best for you - convenience or value.

Facial Treatments

All facial and back treatments include Aveda’s signature 5 Spa Rituals: Sensory Journey, Opening and Closing Rituals, Aromatic Steam Towels, Scalp and Foot Rituals and a Finishing Touch makeup.

30, 60 & 90 minute facials:

Restore the look and feel of healthy skin through cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, and treatment masques integrated into a customized formulation geared to address your skin challenges. A short questionnaire helps your student service provider determine your elemental nature. The unique experience includes the use of essential oils and stress-relieving massage manipulations on the arm and hand. • Infinity nature: balances normal to dry skin conditions • Air nature: nourishes dehydrated and aging skin • Fire nature: cooling and soothing to sensitive skin • Water nature: clarifying to congested skin • Earth nature: purifying for normal to oily skin Also available for men, this facial is perfectly suited to soothe his skin and address the needs of skin that undergoes daily shaving.

Focus Treatments

Outer Peace Acne Facial:

This deep cleansing facial is purifying and detoxifying, and is excellent for problematic skin. Following a skin analysis, your esthetician will help you determine what lifestyle choices could be involved in your skin challenges. Then your esthetician will use a professional clay masque to draw impurities from your skin. To finish your service the calming properties of the Outer Peace Cooling Masque will help your skin feel happy, soothed, and refreshed.

Tourmaline “Botanical Skin Resurfacing”:

This facial is Aveda’s answer to microdermabrasion. This facial utilizes the tourmaline product line and focuses on the radiance of your skin. Your esthetician will utilize a professional skin refinement scrub that will smooth and refine your skin, leaving it soft, supple and glowing. It’s best for normal to dry skin. This treatment is great when your skin is flaky, dry or feeling thick and built up.

Enbrightenment Discoloration Treatment:

Enbrightenment Discoloration Treatment offers a multi-pronged approach to a brighter, more even looking skin tone – giving skin luminosity and clarity – without the use of harsh ingredients. This salon-only facial aids in product efficacy through Asian-Inspired massage manipulations and facial techniques. The treatment also promotes relaxation and well-being through signature foot manipulations. A weekly series of four treatments, followed by monthly maintenance facials is recommended for best results.

Green Science Skin Renewing Treatment:

Minimize lines and wrinkles and replenish skin’s nutrition with Aveda’s Green Science Skin-Renewing Treatment. For results that give skin a firmer appearance, high tech products meet hands-on skin therapy in a facial treatment that combines rejuvenating massage manipulations with anti-aging techniques. We customize by working most intensely on the areas you tell us need the most attention. For the most noticeable results, we recommend a series of four weekly treatments, followed by monthly maintenance facials that preserve skin improvements.

Essential Back Treatment:

This “facial” addresses the skin challenges of this often-neglected area. The service includes deep cleansing w/steam, skin analysis, exfoliation plus extraction and botanical masque. Foot & scalp massage manipulations complete your experience and leave you feeling purified, renewed and pampered.

Paraffin Wax Masque:

Paraffin wax treatments nourish and rejuvenate the skin by opening the pores and trapping moisture. For this reason, paraffin wax treatments are used to help those with eczema and psoriasis. It is also used to repair scar tissue. A paraffin wax facial hydrates and stimulates the production of new skin, thereby giving the face a natural glow.

Perfecting Plant Peel:

The Aveda Perfecting Plant Peel is clinically proven to provide the instant exfoliation and radiance benefits of a 30% glycolic peel, without the associated redness and irritation. The result is smooth, refined and even-toned skin – skin that looks perfected by nature. The Aveda Perfecting Plant Peel can be added to any of our other facials for an additional charge.

Lash or Brow Tint:

This treatment temporarily tints the lashes or brows using brown or black tint specially designed to be used around the eye area.

Makeup Application:

Whatever the occasion (or no occasion at all), an Aveda Institute Student makeup artist will create the look you want.

Spa Body Treatments

Aveda Body Elixir:

This extraordinary treatment combines exfoliation, massage manipulations, and hydrotherapy. First the skin is exfoliated. A Scots pressured hose is used to relax and soothe the back side of the body from head to toe, with special attention on specific muscle structures to ease tension. This is followed by vichy shower, which gives water massage manipulations utilizing varied temperatures and rhythms. Finally, a composition is applied to the body with a effleurage movements. Tension will be washed away from your body with this extraordinary treatment.

Aveda Body Polish:

The Aveda Body Polish is a spa treatment that focuses on removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin leaving you feeling soft and smooth. Utilizing a variety of Aveda products, your Aveda Institute student therapist will exfoliate using vigorous motions and the treatment will be completed by the application of an Aveda moisturizer.

Aqua Polish Treatment:

This is a treatment that begins with an exfoliation using a special combination of Aveda products. The product is left on the skin while a plant pure-fume steam bath is given. This allows for the warm steam to melt the products onto the skin leaving it feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The treatment is concluded with an application of moisturizer.

Body Wraps:

These treatments involve a dry exfoliation to the body. A variety of Aveda products can be used in this service to truly customize the experience for each guest. The body will be wrapped with sheets and blankets to retain heat. Aveda’s scalp manipulations and balancing movements will aid in relaxation. A warm shower and the application of a moisturizer will complete the experience.

Caribbean Therapy Body Wrap:

A rejuvenating and nurturing body treatment that uses the healing touch and plant ingredients of the Caribbean to create inner calm and renew the body and the senses. Treatment begins with a dry exfoliation followed by a smoothing, detoxifying seaweed masque, a comforting body wrap and scalp and facial manipulations. Choose a steam, Vichy or dry cleansing followed by restorative body massage manipulations that completes this island inspired experience. This is a great fall/winter service. (additional charge for wet or Vichy)

Rosemary Mint Awakening Body Wrap:

Renew your body and mind with this stimulating and nurturing dry body wrap. The skin is smoothed and softened. Essences of Rosemary and Peppermint will awaken your senses while scalp and foot manipulations balance the body. This is a great spring/summer service.

Wax

Free yourself from the tyranny of the tweezer. Waxing is effective and long-lasting. It can flawlessly arch a brow and smoothly remove unwanted hair.
